Defining Produce By Its Color

Although you can’t always judge a book by its cover, you can usually do just that when it pertains to food. By looking at your foods, you can tell a lot about them. For example; if food items are processed, fake, packed with chemicals – all of which you want to avoid – or if they are healthy. In addition, you can also determine the health benefits of produce just from looking at them.

WHITE PRODUCE

Anything from cauliflower and mushrooms will boost your immune system.

GREEN PRODUCE

Fruits and vegetables like broccoli, kale, green pepper, green leafy vegetables helps to detoxify your body.

YELLOW PRODUCE

Bananas, melons, yellow peppers and much more are known for enhancing your beauty. This could be anything from replenishing your skin, strengthening your nails etc.

ORANGE PRODUCE

Like carrots, orange peppers and tomatoes help prevent cancer.

RED PRODUCE

Red fruits and vegetables such as cherries, watermelon, red peppers, apples and again, much more, are ideal for promoting a healthy heart. Such items may have the ability to prevent, treat or cure certain diseases or illnesses associated with the heart.

PURPLE PRODUCE

Things like eggplants, blackberries and grapes are perfect for promoting longevity in your life.
