A new study has found that the low carb/keto diet can increase the sperm quality and count in obese men.
The case study observed two obese men who lost weight by following low carb/keto diet and found that there was a significant improvement in their sperm count and quality. The study was done by Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil and was presented at the 2020 European and Internal Obesity Congress.
In the first case, the participant lost around 27 kilos in three months after following the diet. His body fat percentage dropped from 42 per cent to 34 per cent.
The sperm quality improved by nearly 100 per cent based on the percentage of motile sperm in the test sample. The testosterone levels also increased more than double.
